History of SWM Activities
ENVIRON was invited as the expert group of solid waste management by the “ASSAM SCIENCE SOCIETY”, the nodal agency of northeast region on National Environment Campaign, 2004-05, sponsored by the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Govt. of India.

On 06-05-2004, the president of the ENVIRON Amarjyoti Kashyap demonstrated its activities on solid waste resource management in the pre programme workshop on National Environment Awareness Campaign, 2004-05 as the focal theme of the programme was solid waste management, at Assam Science Society Complex, Khanapara.
On 15-06-2005, the president of the ENVIRON again demonstrated its activities on solid waste resource management in a workshop on solid waste management, sponsored by the Ministry of Forest and Environment, Govt. of India, under the National Environment Awareness Campaign, 2004-05, at Gopal Boro Govt. Higher Secondary School, Dispur, Guwahati.
II. Year-2005-2006:
ENVIRON has organized various Awareness activities and Demonstration on Solid Waste Management at different places of Guwahati City in the month of May, June, and July, 2005 and submitted a report to Hon’ble Environment and Forest Minister of Assam and to the Commissioner, Guwahati Municipal Corporation.
From 23rd to 27th September 2005, five days awareness and Training Programme on “Solid Waste Resource Management” was successfully completed along with Nehru Yuvak Kendra, Kamrup, Assam.

During the month of august, September and October 2005 ENVIRON conducted a survey on “Noise Pollution of Guwahati City”.
