Brief profile of the Chief Functionary:
Dr. Amarjyoti Kashyap is an “Inventor” national award winning environmental scientist. He was in teaching profession in the department of Environmental Science for 10 years under the Gauhati University. Dr. Kashyap is the founder President of ENVIRON a nongovernmental organization specially working in research and implementation of Solid Waste Management & Organic Farming and recipient of
- Millennium Alliance Innovation Award in 2017
- 3R excellence Award in 2018
- Selected among the top five Innovators of Water and Sanitation in the Mahatma Gandhi International Sanitation Convention 2018, New Delhi
- Received Krishna Kanta Handiqui University National Fellowship in 2019
- India Sanitation Coalition Award, 2020
Dr. Kashyap did PhD research work in Environmental Science (Solid Waste Management) from Gauhati University. His scientific research works on ‘Solid Waste Management and Organic Farming’ are acclaimed internationally and some of his research papers are also published by the ‘Springer’ publication globally.
Dr. Kashyap has developed and invented some simplified ways and technology for the successful Solid Waste Management like “Waste Assimilator” for decentralized biodegradable solid waste management, “Plastic Craft” to utilize plastic waste at source, “Money Earning Litterbin” for the source segregation of plastic waste and “Seuj Bahan” for door to door collection of segregated plastic waste.
Invention of the “Waste Assimilator” has developed the much needed “CONVERGENCE‟ between the ‘Solid Waste Management’ and ‘Organic Farming’. Due to the invention of “Waste Assimilator” Dr. Kashyap has also received ‘PATENT’ (Patent No. 431955).
By considering the importance of the present grave situation of the Solid Waste Management, Dr. Kashyap has written a book on “UNDERSTANDING OF SOLID WASTE MANAGEMENT TO SAVE THE FOOD CHAIN” which is the ‘Copyright’ protected scientific book of India on Solid Waste Management.
