Training and Awareness Programme, Workshop and Field Activities:

ENVIRON has developed “Waste to Wealth Programme” to solve the problem of “Municipal Solid Waste” and employment generation where “Solid Waste Resource” can help to solve the unemployment problem not only in our State but Country as a whole.

ENVIRON has introduced three principles of plastic usage RRR, i.e. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle where plastic will become the part of the “Human Civilization”.

Reduce: Reducing plastic by introducing some alternatives like earthen-cup instead of plastic cup, paper carry bag instead of plastic carry bag etc.

Reuse: Usage of same plastic several times like plastic bottle, plastic carry bag etc.

Recycle: Finally recycling of those plastics, which are not possible for reuse.

As the part of the reducing the usage of plastic, ENVIRON was successfully introducing “earthen cup” instead of “plastic cup” and “paper carry bag” instead of “plastic carry bag”. In this connection ENVIRON was organized several awareness camp and training programme on “city garbage management” along with the promotion of earthen cup and paper carry bag where one lakh fifty thousand earthen cups and fifty thousand paper carry bags was distributed.

Under the community development programme ENVIRON has distributed 50 nos. G.I. (Tin pat) roof to 5 numbers family of a poor village Deosal of Sonapur making earthen pot. Entire villagers are suffering from monetary crisis as the people are discarding earthen pot day by day. The whole earthen pot business is struggling for its existence as the market is dominated by plastic alternatives. 2 lakhs earthen cup was purchased from the village Deosal for distributing in the different election camp and awareness camp of city garbage management.

Fifty thousand earthen cups was distributed in the various election camp of different political party of last parliamentary election, 2004 of Guwahati City. Accordingly formal letter was given to the different political party. Earthen cup was highly accepted by the different political parties.

Awareness campaigning was first concentrated on the greater Dispur and capital complex areas to sensitize the public on the use of earthen cups instead of plastic cups.
