ENVIRON, an NGO in association with ‘Assam Science Technology and Environment Council’ (ASTEC) have successfully conducted three days duration residential “Orientation workshop for secondary school teachers on Environment Education” at ‘Gandhi Bhaban’, Morigaon on 1st, 2nd and 3rd November, 2012.

The basic objective of the workshops was to train the selected teachers on Environment Education with the following activities programme:

• Self Introduction, Ice Breaking & Expectation analysis:
• Natural Resources, Society and Lifestyles:
• Issues of Biodiversity Conservation with special reference to Assam:
• Development vs. Environment (Scenario in global, national and regional context and issues of discussion in ES):
• Understanding Physical Environment, spheres and systems:
• Group Activities:
• Environmental initiatives (Ethics, Ethos and Environmental Movements, Environmental Policy, Law and Acts):
• Curricular Framework & Pedagogical issues of Environmental Studies in Assam:
• Career opportunities in the field of environment:
• Group Discussion (Test/ Evaluation, Feedback sharing):
